Post Debutants great escape.
on: August 9, 2012, 15:51

Just to let you know Debutant is the first miniature we purchased over twenty years ago and is the foundation mare of our herd. After we went to bed the other night my husband was woken up in the middle of the night by horse screaming all around the house. (We keep our horses close because it is too easy for someone to put them in the back of someone else’s car).

When Bill went outside Debutant and family had made the great escape! There was grandmother, son, daughter, granddaughter and her best friend all on the run. The stallions and everyone else who did not get out were making all kinds of noise. Of course the gang was having such a good time kicking up their heels that no one could be caught. You go after one and the other four would stream around you and off they go.

The porch horse (you have to be over 35 to qualify) was not in his pen at the time so his gate was open. After running Bill around the yard, all five the mob were herded in to this little tiny pen. Needless to say at midnight my husband just runs up behind them and shuts the gate….and leaves the there.

Come morning I look out and there five horses lined up shoulder to shoulder asking about breakfast, they had worked so hard the night before! I wish I had a picture!
