I have 5 years experience starting and riding young horses for ALL disciplines
with a mixture of Natural and Classical Horsemanship methods. I am a Parelli
Natural Horsemanship Level 1 graduate, an active upper level Pony Clubber,
and I successfully show during the summer show season. My horses have
earned blue ribbons and year end awards. I am a strong believer in continued
education and I train regularly with some of our region’s top eventing
and dressage instructors. I have also participated in clinics and training
with Sweden’s Hokan Thorn and with US Olympian Becky Holder. In addition
to dressage and eventing, I am also an active trail rider. I also ride
Western. I am offering comprehensive horse training sessions that include
ground work and work under saddle. Training is for horses of all breeds
and disciplines, and riding lessons for riders hoping to deepen their
understanding of horsemanship. Individualized programs will give your
horse the education he needs without skimping or compromising - Your horse
will get the time he needs. My young horse/horse starting program is $320
a month. For a trained horse needing further education (with at least
3 months under saddle), full training is $320 per month OR $20 per ride
as arranged between you and me. Lessons are $20 per hour on your horse,
$30 on a lesson horse. Indoor arena is available!! If you are boarding
and wish to be in training, a minimum of two training sessions/lessons
per week is required. Newly started, boarded horses MUST be in full training
for the first 3 months. A custom training program can be arranged after
the initial 3 months. Horses can be started or refreshed for all disciplines.
Continued education and showing in English disciplines is also available.
Lessons are designed to give riders experience with ALL aspects of horse
care and management, NOT just riding. Perfect for beginner riders wanting
to learn more about horse care and horsemanship! Lessons are all encompassing
and continued education will be encouraged. Learn about different disciplines,
horse health care, and much more. It is my goal to be involved in your
learning and encourage well-rounded horsemanship. Expect homework!! I
will go out of my way for my student’s success and to help my students
reach their goals.

I have just moved to Minneapolis from San Diego. In San diego I owned
a very succesful mobile training business. I have moved to minneapolis
to pursue a career in nursing, but very much miss riding and training.
My expertise is in problem horses and starting young horses to saddle,
but I had students and horses that showed dressage, jumping and western
pleasure.
I have a unique method where I blend conventional methods with more natural
methods to produce happy, confident but also well mannered horses. Because
of this my students and horses won in the show ring, but also enjoyed

The warm weather is finally here! Time to get the colts broke and pull the others out of the winter pasture! I have openings for colt breaking, horses needing a tune-up, a start on barrels or simply a better handle. All of my training starts with the basics of reining; eliminating resistance, applying "face" and obtaining consistency. Ultimately the goal of reining training is to produce an "unconditional" horse that is willingly guided to perform the tasks asked. I charge 550.00 a month for all types of training. This includes 150.00 for outdoor board and the training fee. Subject to availability, there are stalls in the barn at 100.00 more a month. I do offer some discounts, please call for details. My riding backround includes showing Saddleseat under Mary Lynn Treis, some Hunter/Jumper, 4 years of competitive Rodeo events including Barrels, Poles, Roping and Goat Tying under the instruction of Pete and Gail Langmeier, 5 years of breaking horses with the Langmeiers and reining under the instruction of reining trainer Darcie Welsh. The barn is located at 530 South Division Ave. in Spring Grove, Minnesota. There are two arenas on the grounds, one indoor and one outdoor.
