The YMCA of LaPorte, Indiana has a very successful day camp that utilizes 140 acres of woodlands here in the LaPorte area. We have canoeing, fishing, archery, etc. However, we have not yet been able to find a partner that would allow us to offer horseback riding ( 1/2 hour trailrides) to our kids for a fee.
Does anyone know of any local horse facilities up this way that could handle 10-15 kids at a time for rides? We're looking for a facility that we might bus kids to/from for trailrides. I'm looking for NEXT YEAR (summer 2006).
We have 100-150 kids each day. We think that less than 20% would take advantage of horseback riding for an extra fee.
The kids would vary in age from 7 - 16 years old. On any given day, kids would be groupsed in similar age (ie: the provider would not have to deal with a huge spread of ages in one group). We would be more than willing to work with someone's schedule to "puzzle" our groups into the provider's schedule in the most convenient fashion.
C'mon guys - - there has got to be someone within 30 minutes of LaPorte that would welcome this business opportunity. Any takers? Any suggestions? Thanks everyone for any help or leads that you might be able to share.
